Who are BDG? What do they do?

We recognise that, “Not every communicator is a leader.  But EVERY great leader is a great communicator.”

And we are delighted to introduce a brand new service!  Ask about our “Director’s Notes” – and get a professional presentation Coach on your side …

There are two primary elements to the Broadcast Development Group's services.  We work with:

1. Professional Television and Radio broadcasters throughout Africa and the Middle East.  Recently BDG Communications worked with the Cricket and Rugby Presenters and Commentators on DSTV's SuperSport – assisting them to, in many cases, make the transition from professional sportsmen and women to professional broadcaster.  We continue to maintain a 'watching brief'

2. C.E.O's, EXCO’s and Senior Managers seeking to project and protect their images or brands in the Media

BDG Communications, using its strong background in Television, Radio and Media relations, excels at providing experiential Training Workshops.  These directly address vulnerable communication styles, enabling delegates to skillfully rectify problem areas and use “how they communicate” to best effect.  Beyond their Media Interventions these skills enable highly effective communication between all levels in an organisation.

But the ability to communicate effectively is a key to success, not only in broadcasting, but in life generally.  Increasingly, the skills taken into the broadcast industry are now being sought for business.

BDG Communications offers a comprehensive range of best-practice communication and Media Training designed to improve your ability to influence, motivate and inspire others.

We continue to provide our customers with real value in the art and science of communications throughout Africa, with 14 years of proven delivery experience.

Whether you’re a Chief Executive, broadcasting personality, in Management or Sales, we will equip you to meet the communication challenge.  Don’t just take our word for it …

“BDG’s excellent communication skills Training has proved invaluable to the Carte Blanche team. They are the professionals who train the professionals.”

George Mazarakis, CARTE BLANCHE Executive Producer

Our Training Workshops are facilitated by highly regarded industry experts.  Led by Malcolm Russell (consultant to Carte Blanche, SABC 2’s Morning Live and SuperSport) and Charlotte Lavine (ex-702, Radio 5, Capital Radio and M-Net Television), our team has a wealth of hands-on Media knowledge and communications experience.

We specialise in creating a comfortable, supportive, informal and risk-free learning environment.  Our objective is to encourage participants to actively apply the theory they’ve learned and to develop their practical skills.

Comprehensive working notes accompany each course and serve as a useful reference tool for the future.  All Workshops can be tailored to meet your exact requirements.

Training Workshops are conducted in Craighall Park, with lunch and refreshments provided.  Or they may also be delivered at your choice of suitable venue upon request.  Where required, we provide projection, sound and video camera resources.

On his deathbed, Confucius revealed the secret of power: Control language.

Confucius also knew that Mastery over Words gives us Mastery over Minds.  He knew the urge to communicate is universal.  Today, we have the means to reach millions.  But what are we saying ?  And how are we saying it ?

Are we Masters of the Mass Media – or its victims ?
